Description
Commercial buildings are responsible for their own waste collection. While the province is expected to require significant organics diversion in these buildings by 2025, additional educational and resource supports will help owners and occupants develop the practical solutions needed to implement organics collection.
This action will be led by community capacity builders such as Sustainable Waterloo Region. Please see below for the most recent publicly available updates.

SUSTAINABLE WATERLOO REGION
Sustainable Waterloo Region (SWR) assists businesses in setting waste reduction & diversion targets. Waste suggestions are in the Idea Book for members. SWR continues to support and encourages businesses to set waste reduction & diversion targets. The Idea Book (a resource for Impact Network members) has a list of waste reduction initiatives that organizations could pursue.
