Description

A locally based food system relies on prime agricultural lands and the agri-food network that supports it (such as infrastructure and transportation networks; on-farm buildings and infrastructure; agricultural services, farm markets, distributors, and primary processing; and vibrant, agriculture-supportive communities). Municipalities in Waterloo Region have a strong history of providing robust protections for prime agricultural lands, and upcoming revisions to the Regional and Area Municipal official plans are expected to continue to build on that strength.

TOWNSHIP OF WOOLWICH

The Township of Woolwich plans to continue to maintain Official Plan policies in new Official Plan that protects agricultural land.
