Description
It is easier and more economical to upgrade the heating system of a building when the building’s total energy needs are reduced through air sealing and the use of added insulation and, upgraded windows and doors.
This action will be led by building owners with support from community capacity building organizations such as Sustainable Waterloo Region.
SUSTAINABLE WATERLOO REGION
Sustainable Waterloo Region, in partnership with the Grand Valley Construction Association, is developing a new Zero Emissions Building Program. This program will focus on specific industry needs - providing educational resources, events & building tours, networking opportunities, advocacy & research support, and embedding integrative design into local building projects. The goals of this program are aligned to support the TransformWR plan targets and several specific actions related to building emission reductions.
